A lot of time people express disinterest in Sacramento or they freaking love it. As a Sacramento native I’ve been on both sides of this so I get, it can be a sleepy town sometimes. However, this first weekend of March is about to have so much going on so here’s my guide to the next weekend (this isn’t paid or sponsored, these are just my personal suggestions):
Friday night catch the Kings vs Clippers game, hopefully you’ll get the chance to scream “Light the beam!” and get all the excitement of it. After the Kings game maybe stroll over to Darling Aviary for a drink if it’s not too cold and take in the city scape from the rooftop bar. Or go to Koja and take the stairs down to the bottom level for a different bar experience.
Next up, a staple of a Saturday morning in Sacramento… the Midtown Farmer’s Market! The farmers market has some truly wonderful vendors. Some of my favorites include Capay Organic Farm, the Stroop Waffle people, the Volx Waffle, the Lemonade Stand, and Boba & Bites to name a few.
After you stroll through the market, this particular Saturday (March 4th) there’s the Capitol Beer Fest, which you should totally get tickets to. I’m not even a beer fan, but they have so many options of beers to try along with seltzers and ciders galore! There’s also local food trucks that show up and it’s right on Capitol Mall- they shut down about 3 city blocks and you have a beautiful view of the Capitol and Tower Bridge. They also offer non-drinking tickets if you want to just go and vibe. 100/10 suggest.
